630-553-4385 | 630-553-4592Since its inaugural graduating class of 13 students in 1903, Yorkville High School has prepared the Yorkville community’s most treasured resource, its students, to prosper in the post-secondary world. Now entering our second century of service, the school has grown to meet the ever-evolving needs of the Yorkville community; however, the essential core values of academic excellence, community stewardship, and school pride have stood the test of time.
Yorkville High School serves nearly 2,220 students supported by nearly 200 staff members on two comprehensive campuses. Since the onset of 2008, Yorkville High School Academy opened its doors to support our freshmen, with our upperclassmen, grades 10-12, being served primarily on the YHS Main Campus.
Nearly four out of five students served at Yorkville High School pursue post-secondary educational opportunities via community college, vocational school, and/or university. Our comprehensive academic offerings include Advanced Placement courses and dual credit college and vocational offerings through our partnership with Indian Valley Vocational Center. We also offer our students a chance to explore various electives, including world language studies; music, fine arts; and various career and technical-related courses. Regardless of a student’s post-secondary pursuits, we pride ourselves in the ideal of Making Excellence a Habit through a laser-like focus on success in the classroom, post-secondary educational opportunities, and personalization of the learning environment.
As we embark on a future that has yet to be written, we are incredibly thankful for the tremendous community support that helped us create some remarkable learning spaces for our students to thrive. Such as our state-of-the-art Science labs that are the envy of most colleges and our Engineering & Computer Science learning spaces, granting our students the opportunity to explore, innovate and fabricate future designs. Our academic wings house fully integrated classrooms designed to optimize student learning through collaboration, infusion of technology, and personalization. Not only can students hone an excellent mind, but they can also cultivate a healthy body in our ultramodern Fitness Center. Finally, the “crown jewel” is our cutting-edge Library and accompanying Learning Stairs that catalyze our students’ scholarly journeys.
As 500 plus graduates walk across the graduation stage each year towards a bright and prosperous future, however, as Yorkville continues to grow, WE still hold dear the values at our inception, our sense of community. While the story of Yorkville High School continues to unfold with each passing day, we take each day as an exhilarating opportunity to cultivate the learners who will not only enrich our society but help the community of Yorkville be the best it can be…pretty exciting times to be a Yorkville Fox!
