A Remote Learning Program has been developed by Yorkville CUSD 115 educators for the 2021-2022 school year to provide an alternative online learning experience that is consistent with student expectations and curriculum within a traditional classroom environment. The Remote Learning Program is different from the e-learning program offered during the 2020-2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Remote Learning Program for students in grades 1-12 will include both synchronous (direct instruction by the teacher) and asynchronous (independent) learning activities. The program will provide high-quality digital instruction designed to engage students in the lessons. Students will connect with their instructor(s) and peers through an online platform known as a Learning Management System (LMS).
All students in District 115 are eligible to apply to participate in the Remote Learning Program provided that space is available and enrollment requirements are met.
Details of the program were presented at the informational meeting held on June 2 at 6 p.m. The Remote Learning Information Presentation recording is available by clicking the link.
For more information please contact Gloria Nirchi at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Elementary students who register for the Remote Learning Program will do so for one semester at a time. A semester commitment for program participation is required. Additionally, in order to support social connections with peers, students will have occasional in-person activities that will help build connections with classmates. These activities will take place at a predetermined location or school on a regular basis.
Students in grades 1-6 who are interested in enrolling in the Remote Learning Program, must complete the application below by Sunday, June 13.
