The District 115 Board of Education approved the transition plan for the 2020-21 school year on July 27. Between July 28-31 families must complete a student Commitment Form for each of their children to designate their learning model preference for the 2020-21 school year.
Parents who have questions are asked to call the district's Administrative Center at 630-553-4382.
As Illinois is currently in Phase 4 of the governor’s Restore Illinois Plan, the district is allowed to implement its “Choice Scenario,” which offers families three learning models to choose from: attend school entirely on-site (with specific safety protocols in place), entirely through e-learning, or through a hybrid of the two.
While Disrict 115 families have been provided with choice, changing state guidelines, new executive orders by the governor, and fluctuating health conditions may force us to pivot between educational scenarios. For example, if the state reverts into Phase I or 2 of the Restore Illinois Plan, or in the event of a district health emergency, we may need to transition into a scenario in which all students would participate in e-learning and the school buildings would be closed.
