Bristol Grade School (BGS) serves approximately 250 early childhood through third grade students from the communities of Yorkville and parts of Montgomery. BGS is located in the township of Bristol, just outside of Yorkville. Students and families benefit from our small school community by developing personal relationships with our teachers and staff. That's what makes BGS so unique - a small school community focused on the early growth and development of our students. Upon completion of third grade, our students join the Autumn Creek Elementary School community for fourth through sixth grades.
In addition to the core curriculum of literacy, math, science and social studies, students receive art, music, physical education and informational literacy & technology during their school day. Families can stay connected with all of their children's activities through the website and mobile app.
Everyday Heroes at BGS
This year, Bristol Grade School has a theme focused on 'everyday superheroes.' This theme is used to bring our students together around a centralized idea that enriches our learning environment. Each month, the school community learns and celebrates a superhero trait: bravery, respect, integrity, self-control, originality and loyalty. These traits combine to spell out BRISTOL!
Each Friday, students are celebrated and recognized during 'Hero Time.' Every month, Superhero Squads work together on a service learning project focused on the question of "how can I be a hero in my own community?" Learning about everyday superheroes is a great way to recognize and understand the important contributions of all the students and families in our world!
