Superintendent Welcome

On behalf of the entire Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 (Y115), welcome back! As we open our doors for the 2026–2027 school year, there is a renewed sense of energy and possibility in the air. Whether you are returning to familiar hallways or joining our community for the very first time, we are absolutely thrilled to have you here.

This year is especially exciting because our community is growing. We are expanding our horizons with new faces, fresh ideas, and enhanced programs designed to inspire curiosity and success. Growth brings new opportunities, and we are fully equipped to make this our most impactful year yet.

A successful school year isn't built by one person; it’s built by all of us. We look forward to working hand-in-hand with each of you to champion the future of our:

  • Students: Nurturing their minds, supporting their passions, and preparing them for the world ahead.
  • Teachers: Empowering them with the resources, trust, and creative freedom to do what they do best.
  • Staff: Celebrating the dedicated individuals who keep our schools safe, running smoothly, and welcoming every single day.

"The future belongs to those who prepare for it today." Let’s make this a year of breakthrough moments, deep connections, and shared triumphs.

Thank you for your continued partnership, enthusiasm, and commitment to excellence. Let’s make it an unforgettable school year!

Go Foxes!

Sincerely,

Technology: Chromebook Responsibility & Support for a Successful School Year
As students return to classrooms across the district, we are excited to see the continued use of our 1:1 technology. To help students make the most of their Chromebook experience, we encourage all families to review the 1:1 Handbook, which outlines expectations, care, and guidelines for responsible device use. We also remind our students to engage in good digital citizenship - treating their devices, peers, and digital spaces with care and respect.

Families will now be notified each time a student’s Chromebook has been damaged and requires repair. If the damage goes beyond normal everyday wear and tear, an invoice will be issued and applied to the student’s account. Examples of billable damage include, but are not limited to, cracked or broken screens, broken hinges, or damage caused by inserting foreign objects into the charging port, which can result in motherboard failure. This communication effort aims to keep families informed and involved in the care of district-issued devices.

As part of promoting student accountability, we kindly ask for your support in encouraging your child to treat their Chromebook with care and responsibility. We understand that accidents happen, and we appreciate your partnership in helping students take ownership of their use of technology.

We are proud of the positive engagement and innovation our students have shown with their Chromebooks. The district remains committed to providing high-quality technology resources that support learning and creativity, and we are confident this involvement will only deepen as the school year progresses.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact our Technology Help Desk at HelpDesk@y115.org.
