Notice of Public Hearing
Board of Education of Yorkville Community Unit School District No. 115, Kendall and Kane Counties, Illinois

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Board of Education of Yorkville CUSD 115, Kendall County, Illinois, that a public hearing will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 5:30 PM.

The public hearing will take place at the Yorkville CUSD 115 District Office, located at 800 Game Farm Road, Yorkville, IL 60560.

The purpose of this public hearing is to hear testimony from the public concerning the District’s intent to apply for a waiver/modification of the Illinois School Code, specifically Section 105 ILCS 5/10-19.05(d).

The District is seeking this waiver to allow for one full-day School Improvement Day for the 2026-2027 through 2030-2031 school years. This modification will allow the District to utilize accumulated instructional time to provide comprehensive professional development and data analysis for staff to advance student achievement, while counting this full day toward the required 176 days of pupil attendance.

All interested community members, parents, staff, and residents of the District will be given an opportunity to present testimony or submit written statements at the hearing. Written statements may also be submitted in advance by delivering them to the District Office or by emailing canderson@y115.org no later than 12 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026.
