Yorkville Transition Program
Hello and welcome to the Yorkville Transition Program (YTP). District 115 is proud to open the Transition Program to students for the first time this school year! Yorkville Transition Program provides the opportunity for District 115 to implement a continuum of services for students who are 18-22 years old and who receive specialized instruction based on individual student needs in the areas of functional, daily living, and vocational-job skills. Yorkville Transition Program will focus on an individualized and rigorous curriculum to meet unique needs for students to receive the foundation they need to grow and to be productive, contributing members of our community.

Welcome
Dear Yorkville CUSD 115 Parents and Guardians,
I would like to formally welcome you and your student to District 115’s Yorkville Transition Program. My name is Michelle Bodi and I am excited to serve the district as Transition Coordinator. My 13 years as a Special Educator have provided me with a number of opportunities, experiences, and leadership skills that have prepared me for the role of Coordinator in the Transition Program. I have dedicated my career to serving students with a wide range of abilities, needs, and specialized support as a teacher and interventionist at Kankakee, Plainfield South, and Downers South High Schools. I cannot express how excited I am to support our students and build long-lasting, collaborative relationships with your family and our greater Yorkville community. These relationships will drive our success in ensuring that our students grow and continue to develop essential life-long skills.
Our program will strive to meet the needs of all our diverse learners with a focus on individualized education, vocational skills/employment, independent living and community engagement. The services will be built around the student’s own strengths, preferences, interests, and vision for their own future.
Our transition program will be located in a space in close proximity to many community employment opportunities. The location will replace the current District 115 Administration Office at 602 Center Pkwy in Yorkville. This space will be fully renovated and equipped with a learning space, family living area, kitchen, and locker space. I will be working closely with our Student Services Department and Facilities and Operations Department to ensure that our new space meets all of the various needs of our program.
As we continue down the path of remodeling, hiring of staff, and creating community connections, I will send updated information to you via email. Once the remodeling is complete, we will schedule a time for families and students to tour the building and meet the Yorkville Transition Program Team.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Michelle Bodi
