The 2016-17 school year was Melinda Lasky’s first year serving Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 in the role of student services coordinator. She then transitioned into the assistant director of student services position during the 2017-18 school year and then director in 2018.  

Melinda began her career at the Kendall County Special Education Cooperative in 2005 as a school social worker. In 2012, she entered educational administration as the SUCCESS Academy coordinator and then Blackhawk Campus principal in West Aurora School District 129.  

Melinda earned her bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University, and master's degrees in social work from Aurora University and in educational leadership from Northern Illinois University.  

Melinda has been a Yorkville resident since 2007.
