Maribel was born in Mexico City, moving to the United States when she was 8 years old. She is the second youngest of five children. In 2014, Maribel graduated from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, the first member of her family to achieve a bachelor’s degree (Human Services/Spanish). She was honored to be chosen as one of twelve students for a new initiative, the First Generation Initiative.

Maribel has been working closely with families and diverse communities for 9 years. She continues doing research to provide resources, as needed, and is looking forward to undertaking graduate studies in the future. She enjoys spending time with families and supporting them with any kind of help they might request. Maribel loves to pursue new opportunities for learning and growth, and is very excited to be part of the team.

Maribel nació en la Ciudad de México y se mudó a los Estados Unidos cuando tenía 8 años. Ella es la segunda más joven de cinco hijos. En 2014, Maribel se graduó de la Universidad Saint Mary de Minnesota, el primer miembro de su familia en obtener una licenciatura (Servicios Humanos/Español). Fue un honor ser elegida como una de los doce estudiantes para la Iniciativa de Primera Generación.

Maribel ha estado trabajando de cerca con familias y comunidades diversas durante 9 años. Ella continúa investigando para proporcionar recursos, según sea necesario, y espera emprender estudios de posgrado en el futuro. Le gusta pasar tiempo con las familias y apoyarlas con cualquier tipo de ayuda que necesiten o soliciten. A Maribel le encanta buscar nuevas oportunidades de aprendizaje y crecimiento, y está muy emocionada de ser parte del equipo.
