• The art curriculum engages students with a wide variety of media, techniques, and processes. Students will learn to use and apply knowledge of terminology, structures, and functions. Across the variety of courses offered, students are challenged to choose and evaluate a range of subject matter, symbols, and ideas promoting independent thought and constructive imagination. Students will understand the visual arts in relation to history and cultures. Through the process of critique and class discussion, students reflect and assess the work of their peers. The focus is on the development of a sense of quality, an appreciation of craftsmanship, and the connection between visual arts and other disciplines.

Students may be required to purchase art materials for use in class.
