Strategic Plan / Goals
Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 facilitated a long-range strategic planning process that resulted in the development of a mission, vision, and goals, bringing focus to the District's efforts for the next five years. The Consortium for Educational Change (CEC) facilitated the strategic planning. The Strategic Planning Team consisted of approximately 40 representatives encompassing students, staff, parents, and community members. This process was meant to be inclusive and give all stakeholders the opportunity for input, and to react to the ongoing work of the team. The team met and developed a Board approved plan between April and August of 2011.
In addition to the strategic planning team, the Yorkville School District hosted a System Assessment in April 2011. The System Assessment was a key CEC process intended to positively impact the goal of increased use of a Lincoln/Baldrige, Correlates of Effective Schools, Standard Bearer, and the Professional Learning Communities’ approach to improve district/school performance. Designed to accelerate CEC, district, and school learning, the System Assessment was a systematic method of organizational self-study, written assessment, site visits by 25 educators from school districts in northern Illinois, and a collaboratively written feedback report based on the criteria of a high performing organization
