Circle Center Students are
with some Great Books
* With our new Information Literacy and Technology Curriculum, all of our Learners are improving their research and technology skills.
* Students come to the Library every 4 days on a rotating schedule...so some weeks they wil come on Monday and Friday. Students in upper grades can come to the library on an as-needed basis as well. Students are learning about responsibility by checking out their own books and returning them ontime.
What's going on in the Library this month: March
Each year, CCGS and other K-3 students in Illinois participate in the Monarch State Reading Program. 20 books are nominated each year, and students vote on their favorite one. During February and March, classroom teachers read these Monarch books in succession, with voting taking place in the library during their regular time. This program exposes students to a variety of strong authors and illustrators as well as genres.
All students are enjoying celebrating Read Across America with their favorite Dr. Seuss books, as well as some little known stories previously published only in magazines.
It is Book Fair time again! The Scholastic Book Fair will be at CCGS from March 10-13, with a final send off on Thursday night along with the art show. Many students are asking (or telling) that their parents are helping with the fair! It is wonderful to see them share in this family event. :) Thank you to everyone for your assistance into making this a successful event. Many books are added to the library thanks to Scholastic Dollars.
On a less positive note, we have been flooded with wet books; pun intended!
Please make sure that waterbottles are closed tightly...books + water = sad books.
